Strong maiden results from Boohoo

Boohoo’s results for the financial year to 28 February 2014 showed sales of £109.791m which is up by a significant 63 per cent over the previous year with UK sales at £70.9m of that. International accounted for 35 per cent of all sales – with 78 per cent growth in Europe and 65 per cent in the rest of the world. Boohoo has, of course, been compared with ASOS but sells only its own brand ranges and has a smaller range, and is achieving a higher gross margin (63 per cent against the 51 per cent chalked up at ASOS. The next step for boohoo is to invest the funds raised via its IPO in staged international development to prove that it can become a significant player on the world stage.
