Sales at Screwfix rose to £1.054 billion – a 26.3 per cent increase – on a like for like basis for the year to 31st January 2016. Meanwhile, B&Q sales rose by just 1.1 per cent on a like for basis to a total of £3.799 billion with online growing by 29 per cent. B&Q is, of course, engaged in a plan that has seen it close 30 stores out of a planned 65 in the UK and Ireland as it seeks to improve overall performance.
