Administrators from Moorfield Advisory were appointed by Sunline on 26th June following a search for a buyer for the business. Most of its 122 staff have been made redundant with all client lettershop and despatch work in progress completed. A sale of assets which include polywrapping and paper enclosing equipment along with printers and print finishing equipment is being handled by Hilco.
Sunline’s chairman Nigel Maybury who acquired the business via an MBO in 1997 has expressed his sadness that the market is such that no buyer could be identified. Sunline achieved sales of £6.7 million last year, some 16 per cent lower than for the previous year.
