Superdry has announced the appointment of Helen Weir as its senior independent director and Alastair Miller to chair its audit committee. Ms Weir was previously chief financial officer at Marks and Spencer and Miller held the same role at New Look. This follows the appointment of Nick Gresham as interim chief financial officer as the retail group moves to replace the directors who resigned when Julian Dunkerton returned to the business he co-founded after ousting CEO Euan Sutherland.
“Since becoming chairman in April it has been a priority of mine to restore the board to full strength and these appointments are a big step in that direction,” commented Peter Williams, Superdry chairman.
