Sales fell by 8.5 per cent at Sweaty Betty (SB) for the year to January 1st 2023, coming in at £167.7 million. Owned by Wolverine Worldwide since 2021 and renowned for its women’s sports and yoga wear, the brand is facing much stronger competition from lower ticket retailers, which now stock similar products.
SB racked up a £5.1 million loss as compared with the £14 million profit it delivered for the prior year. The business has cited the cost of reorganising its buying operations in the USA and tougher trading conditions for the disappointing results.
