Ted Baker sales lift

Ted Baker PLC has reported strong results for the first 19 weeks of its new financial year. The British clothing and accessories retailer enjoyed strong trading in both the UK and the United States, attributing these markets along with other international territories, and its online business specifically, with making a major contribution. Group revenues were up by almost 18 per cent with retail up by 16 per cent, wholesale sales up by 25 per cent and online sales up by 48.1 per cent, the latter in part attributed to a new web platform.

Already this year Ted Baker has opened two new UK stores as well as a new store in Philadelphia plus concessions elsewhere in the United States, in Spain, France, The Netherlands and Japan.  It has reported strong performance from its territorial licence holders with new stores opening in Dubai, Cairo and Saudia Arabia, plus a store in Brisbane opened with its Australasian joint venture partner.
