Tesco is planning to reduce its head office headcount by 325 as it tries to control costs. Consultation is underway with affected staff who Tesco says, will be offered alternative roles in the business wherever possible.
Meanwhile, the supermarket has increased hourly pay rates for store workers and added further automated tills to its stores.
