Tesco re-enters marketplace segment

Tesco has returned to operating an online marketplace, and its new launch offers 9,000+ products fulfilled by their respective suppliers. The supermarket had originally trialled a marketplace offering in 2011, but it was hampered by technical issues and withdrawn.

Tesco customers will be able to collect Clubcard points on all purchases from the marketplace, which will include homewares, DIY products, garden supplies, toys, and pet care products.

Heading up the launch is Tesco marketplace director Peter Filcek, who commented: “This is a really exciting moment as we  expand our online offer – making it even more convenient for customers to shop at Tesco and even more rewarding with customers able to collect Clubcard points on all purchases.”
