Tesco is preparing to launch two specialist ebook and music
retail websites later this year alongside its Blinkbox online movie store which
it already owns, according to the Telegraph. The story says Blinkbox customers
can buy or rent new movies by downloading them over the internet, similar to
movie rental services like Netflix or Amazon’s Lovefilm, although Blinkbox’s
sales model will allow it to offer box office hits much earlier than those
rivals.
