The Hut Group is set to develop two sites close to Manchester’s airport. It will create offices as well as studio space with capacity for 10,000 staff members.
The site will be built on 16.8 acres in four separate phases. Phase one comprises 280,000 sq.ft. of office facilities for which a planning application has been lodged with a view to construction commencing early in 2019. An option agreement between The Hut Group, which already occupies 79,000 sq.ft. in the Manchester Airport Voyager development, and Airport City Manchester has been agreed for phases two, three and four. The online retailer is also constructing a new facility called ICON which will house its content creation studio which will include Hangar 7, the production business it acquired.
