The Linen Works shuts for maternity leave

Homewares and textiles catalogue The Linen Works is going on
hiatus. Founder Marina Guirey decided to “temporarily
close” the business, beginning in mid-December, for
approximately nine months. In an email to customers, she wrote,
“I am having my third child in January and in this current
difficult economic climate it is not viable to keep the company
going whilst I am on maternity leave.” The company’s only
store, in northwest London, will close at the end of November,
just two months after it opened. To liquidate stock, The Linen
Works is running a “mothball” sale discounting all
products by 25 per cent.
