Tuffnells in administration

Tuffnells in administration

National and international freight distribution business Tuffnells has called in administrators resulting in most of the long-established business’ staff being made redundant.

Tuffnells operated from 33 UK depots and specialised in handling large, heavy items and had employed 2200 staff. Customers have been advised that all hubs and depots have been closed.

Rick Harrison, joint administrator and managing director at Interpath Advisory said: “Tuffnells is one of the UK’s most recognisable logistics companies, providing delivery services to over 4000 businesses across the UK under its ‘The Big Green Parcel Machine’ brand.

“Unfortunately, the highly competitive nature of the UK parcel market, coupled with significant inflation across the company’s fixed cost base in recent times, has resulted in the Company experiencing intense pressure on cashflow.”
