Very is making 106 head office roles redundant in a move to invest instead in 100 new technology division roles. It will also be making 35 of its customer care team roles redundant. Affected staff have already been notified.
The business is also now looking at ways to enable some of its staff to work from home in the longer term having seen the results achieved during lockdown. This will enable its Aintree customer care site to close and for staff to work from home or from its Speke headquarters.
CEO Henry Birch said: “As we look to the future, we need the right team structures, working practices and environments to enable us to meet the opportunities and tackle the challenges that lie ahead. That means reshaping our business and bringing in new people and skills to enhance our capabilities.”
He added: “In making these changes, we are committed to supporting our impacted colleagues through what we know will be a difficult time and will work closely with our recognised trade union, Usdaw.”
