Following a successful trial over the summer with very.co.uk customers, Yodel has launched Inflight, a new facility which allows customers to amend the delivery preference up to one hour before a delivery due time. During the trial, there was increased success for first time attempted delivery and it also lowered the number of contact centre interactions made by customers.
Inflight works with Yodel’s Xpect service which provides customers with a two hour delivery window. The new features give customers the option to send their revised instructions to Yodel after completing their purchase, with Yodel notifying customers once their parcels are received into its network. Typically customers take the opportunity to nominate a neighbour to receive their delivery, detail a safe place where the delivery can be left or switch to a Collect+ delivery point.
