Bathroom products specialist Victorian Plumbing is investing in a new 50,000 sq.ft. warehouse and creating 80 additional jobs on the back of an increased level of orders. The Formby based business currently employs 400 staff and generates annual sales of c£150 million and had been targetting an increase of £50 million to £200 million prior to lockdown.
Managing director Stephnie Judge said: There has been an increased appetite for home renovations during lockdown and investing in a bathroom revamp has been a key project for many”.
Most of the new roles will be in logistics and customer service to support growth. “Consumers are revamping their homes for a number of reasons. For some, savings achieved during lockdown have meant they have the cash to invest in their homes. For others, lockdown gave them the additional time to work on such projects and reminded them of the benefits of DIY.
“We are seeing consumers realise the benefits of renovations such s a new bathroom or simply adding a downstairs toilet or separate shower to increase the appeal of their homes to potential buyers.”
