UK based vouchercloud has launched kuponcloud in Russia as its extends its international business reach. It most recently launched in South Africa where it generated 165,000 downloads and 1.2 million mobile members in its first three months there. In Russia it anticipates strong take up with its offering of discounts and promotional offers for well known retailers and leisure establishments. It will also be seeking to take some of its British clients into Russia via kuponcloud.
vouchercloud says that the average Russian citizen spends twice the amount of time on social networks sites as the average Briton with Eleanor Pickering commenting “The Russian launch is huge for us and comes as the result of several previous successes, showing that we are ready for the next move. A strong social strategy is going to be critical to the success of our Russian venture. We are also intending to take advantage of the strong relationships we have forged with high-end British retailers.”
vouchercloud, which has investment from Vodafone, launched in the UK in February 2010 and it has helped consumers save over £90 million on everything from dining out and shopping, to hotel stays and cinema tickets.
