Walmart which is upping the ante in its battle to compete with Amazon has partnered with Shopify. The move is an interesting one in that it will enable Shopify’s seller community to sell via the Walmart platform using a readily available Shopify tool. Walmart will add further value to its marketplace sellers by offering them a convenient customer returns service via its stores.
Walmart Marketplace VP Jeff Clementz said: “Growing our marketplace is a strategic priority and we are going to be smart as we grow. We will start integrating new sellers now and expect to add 1200 Shopify sellers this year. Shopify has a long history of helping small businesses leverage scale, and we’re proud to be part of the solution that is helping customers and other retailers.”
