Wesfarmers extends living wage to under 25s

Homebase which was acquired by Wesfarmers in January has announced that its UK employees aged under 25 will be included in plans to extend the living wage to employees from this coming Sunday. The rate of £7.20 per hour will mean that most of the full time Homebase store staff team members will now see their annual salaries increase by around £550. Meanwhile, the only in-store nod to new owner Bunnings’ branding so far has been spotted in the form of small uniformed and logo’d teddy bears in its display of BBQs. The acquired Homebase stores are expected to fully rebrand in the next 24 months.
