Williams-Sonoma, owner of furniture retailer West Elm, has increased its UK sales by 20 per cent.
In its latest accounts, for the year to 2 February 2020, it reported that total sales rose to £31.3 million (up from £26 million in 2019).
Pre-tax profit also increased from £710,000 to £1.2 million.
The growth in turnover was largely due, the company said, to an increase in online revenue for the West Elm and Pottery Barn Kids brands, an increase in wholesale revenue, and a full year of revenue for the store opened in 2019.
In the statement, the company said: “While the company’s retail business has been and may continue to be materially impacted by temporary store closures and restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the impact on its retail turnover in fiscal 2020 has been partially offset by growth in its eCommerce business.”
