Whittard targets Chinese market

Whittard is targeting direct sales in the Chinese market via an offering on Alibaba’s Tmall marketplace. Tmall currently offers over 7000 brands from 53 countries and regions on its marketplace site. Whittard joins them with an initial offering a range of 29 products including teas, coffee and cocoa.

Mark Dunhill, managing director of Whittard said “We’re excited to partner with Alibaba and offer some of our quintessentially British products to the Chinese market. This move is an important step forward for us as we know that high quality European products are extremely popular with Chinese online shoppers.”
