Wickes revenue rises to £865m as retailer delivers first-half growth

Wickes has reported a 2.1 per cent increase in first-half revenue to £865m, supported by growth across its retail and trade operations.

The home improvement retailer continued to grow sales during the period despite a challenging consumer environment, as it focused on its digitally led, service-enabled strategy.

Wickes has continued to invest in its digital capabilities alongside its store estate, with technology playing an increasingly important role in connecting customers with its products and services.

Its TradePro proposition remains a significant part of the business, providing professional tradespeople with personalised pricing and offers through its digital membership platform.

The retailer has also been investing in fulfilment, apps and other technology designed to make it easier for customers to move between its digital channels and physical stores.

The results come as the home improvement market continues to contend with cautious consumer spending, particularly around larger discretionary projects.

Wickes nevertheless enters the second half focused on continuing to grow its share of the UK home improvement market while investing in its digital, store and service propositions.
