Wincanton invests in robotics for eCommerce fulfilment

Wincanton has made a multi-million-pound investment in autonomous mobile robot (AMR) technology to build on its eCommerce fulfilment services capacity.

The new fleet of 48 collaborative robots enables Wincanton to apply greater flexibility to its operations work for eCommerce clients and enables better management of the fluctuating volumes experienced with order fulfilment work. The AMRs have been trialled across Wincanton’s client base operations work including that of Molton Brown and Neal’s Yard Remedies.

James Wroath, Wincanton CEO said: “Wincanton is investing in automation and robotics to increase the agility, resilience and efficiency of our eCommerce customers’ supply chains. This, in turn, means that our customers can then focus their investment on product development.”
