The economic downturn isn’t stopping people from donning fancy
dress (that’s costumes to you in the States). So Wonderland
Party, an online merchant of costumes, wigs, and accessories for
adults and children, is looking to expand beyond the UK into the
US. Following a 33 per cent rise in sales last year, to more than
£2 million ($3 million), the Longport, Staffordshire-based
company is looking for a distribution centre in the US as well as
bigger premises in the UK.
“We’ve had people from America ringing us up,” said
owner Jozef Machnicki, who founded the company six years ago,
“so that’s our next port of call.”
