Today 10th March 2023, WoolOvers Group confirmed that it had acquired the business and assets of Scotts Limited, the privately-owned mail order and eCommerce business.
Mike Lester, CEO, WoolOvers Group said: “The addition of Scotts into the WoolOvers Group complements the overall product offering for all of our customers and will secure 150 jobs”.
Scotts is a market-leading UK mail order and eCommerce business operating within the homewares, gifts, health and garden sectors, trading under the names ‘Scotts’ and ‘Scotts of Stow’. The well known,direct-to-consumer, omnichannel retailer deploys multiple eCommerce websites including Amazon and eBay stores, along with mail order catalogues and a flagship store in Stow-on-the-Wold, Cotswolds.
Scotts had operated successfully for over 25 years and has an active and loyal customer database totalling almost half a million shoppers. However, a confluence of factors in 2022, which have impacted many sector businesses, necessitated the sale of the business and assets.
WoolOvers Group is an international direct-to-consumer retailer based in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. It currently operates 3 lifestyle brands aimed at the mature market; WoolOvers, PURE Collection and Roama. Like Scotts, it operates via catalogues and eCommerce websites and has expanded its range to customers through partnerships with its “Friends” suppliers.
