Delivery services povider Yodel was hit by a suspected ransomware attack on 18th/19th June which has led to delays to its delivery service as well as removing access to its order tracking facility. Yodel said that no customer payment data has been at risk but asked its customers via its website to inform them immediately if any unexpected or unsolicited communications from any source purporting to be Yodel were received which asked for personal information.
In a statement on its website Yodel said: “As soon as we detected the incident, we launched an investigation, led by our internal IT division and supported by a digital forensics group. We are deploying all efforts to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and continue to work closely with authorities and law enforcement”.
Its tracking service has been restored and Yodel has been working to clear the delayed parcels.
