Yoox posts growth


Italy-based fashion etailer Yoox posted a 50 percent rise in
sales for fiscal 2009 to €152.2 million (£133.6
million), up from €101.5 million (£89.1 million) in
2008. The Italian market remains its largest territory in terms
of revenue, with sales up 37 percent in 2009. The rest of Europe
posted growth of 50.3 percent, with particularly strong
contributions being made in France, Germany, and the UK,
according to a company statement. Yoox is also working on
strengthening its presence across the Atlantic and recorded a
growth of 57.4 percent in the US. In Japan, the company increased
revenues by 90.5 percent, “benefiting from the local
structure established in the second half of 2008”.
