Monsoon back in profit


Sales at Monsoon were up by 4.3 per cent, to £551.9 million,
in the year to August 31st with a pre-tax profit of £18.1 million from a £2.4
million loss in the previous year.

The turnaround, led by chief executive John Browett,
formerly chief executive of Dixons, has seen the business rationalise its store
portfolio, closing 35 underperforming outlets. International sales from the 74
countries it trades in, continue to grow.
