In a statement, Royal Mail has announced its disappointment
that the Communications Workers Union (CWU) has revealed it intends to call for
a national strike ballot of its members in Royal Mail. The statement revealed
that Royal Mail proposed a highly competitive pay offer and agreement to the
CWU, but it was rejected. Talks are on-going between Royal Mail and the CWU and
the postal operator has said that it is committed to seeking an agreement.
