Boosted by strong performances from its online and
international businesses, British brand Laura Ashley delivered a 9.2 per cent
growth in pretax profit to £20.1 million. Group sales were also up, by 4.5
per cent, to £298.8 million in the 52 weeks to 26th January. Nonstore revenue,
which includes wholesale and online sales, was up 17 per cent and now represents
more than a quarter of total revenue.
