The UK division of Signet Jewelers, which comprises H Samuel
and Ernest Jones, posted a 5 percent decline in total revenues to approximately
£127 million for the nine weeks to 29th December. Ecommerce sales in the UK,
however, were up 8 percent during the period. The company experienced a sales surge
towards the end of the holiday period, but it was insufficient to offset
earlier declines, it said in a statement.
