The Garden Centre Group has announced that it will be rolling out a rebrand across all of its 140 garden centres around the country. All will now share the Wyevale Garden Centres name along with a reworked logo and visual identity. The Wyevale name remains one of the best recognised in the sector and dates back to 1932 when it began to trade as a single site mail order plant nursery. It opened its first garden centre in the mid-1960s and from that grew a significant chain, primarily via acquisition. In 2009 it took the decision to become The Garden Centre Group to embrace acquisitions which were continuing to trade under their own names.
Sarah Fuller, marketing director for Wyevale said that the brand name was chosen because if its strong existing recognition and positive associations. The rebranding of the entire chain will be in place early in 2015.
