For the year to 31st December 2013, Boden grew its sales to £278.7 million, up 5 per cent on 2012. Notably online sales accounted for over 90 per cent of orders placed and the business attracted 20 million unique visitors to its websites during the year which saw it generate 1.5 million active customers across 60 countries. Its 1000 strong team had also worked hard to deliver a 1 per cent increase in gross profit margin as well as operational efficiencies.
In the current year a dedicated website was launched for the Australian market on August 4th and group first half sales to June 2014 are 6.5 per cent ahead f the previous year and like-for-like exchange rates. CEO Julian Granville commented “We are pleased with the 2013 results, having manged to grow sales and profits in what remained a difficult retail environment. We are delighted to welcome Penny Herriman to the management team to drive global growth further.” adding , “2014 has started well and we expect further growth to be achieved for the full year. We are particularly pleased with the improvement of sales and margin in the first half of the year.”
