IKEA has recorded increased global sales and now plans to accelerate its online roll-out to all 27 countries in which it has a retail presence. The business generated US $37 billion sales in the 12 months to August 2013, with the UK accounting for £1.27 billion of the total. Globally, some 1.5 billion consumers visited its website and its 315 stores, attracted 716 million visitors.
Growth at the retailer was fastest in China where there is still considerable scope for expansion.
