N Brown Group to reduce headcount

N Brown Group has offered 3000 of  its head officer staff the opportunity to apply for voluntary redundancy in a bid to reduce its overheads. Those applying for redundancy will learn this month if they have been accepted. The move forms part of the business’ restructuring to become digitally led business and is expected to see those with a primarily catalogue /mail order “pedigree” likely to be successful in their applications. A former N Brown Group staffer who left N Brown Group earlier this year and,  chose not to be named,  commented that this (move) “had been expected for some time and that the business was overburdened by long standing, highly paid,  traditionally skilled employees who no longer fitted into what the new regime wants.” adding that “for some redundancy on good terms will be more than welcome.”
