Oliver Bonas which employs 500 staff across 43 stores,
warehouse and head office is paying all of its staff a minimum of £9.15 per
hour in London and £7.85 outside from 1st September. The retailer is
understood to be the first high street chain to introduce the living wage
pressed for by the Living Wage Foundation. These rates are significantly higher than the
national living wage rate of £7.20 per hour which will become law next
April.
