With more promotional “occasions” being
lined up this year than ever before and some retailers bragging that they’ll be
offering the craziest discounts ever, some
were surprised when Asda announced it had decided not to stage Black Friday
promotions in its stores. However, it is
not only Asda which is stepping aside and allowing the rest of the bricks &
mortar retailers to “get on with it”.
After all, who wants greed-fuelled physical fights breaking out in their
stores, their security guards and staff put at risk, or their premises
damaged, and reputations tarnished?
Better instead, many agree, to keep all these promotions online and allow
servers to take the battering rather than employees and customers.
