Feelunique acquires French chain

feelunique has acquired Parfumeries Rive Droite and has appointed its first in-country managing director. Rive Droite is an upmarket French perfumery chain with a flagship store in Paris as well as four boutiques in other locations. It was founded in 1986 to sell a range of top fragrance brands as well as lesser known niche products.

The stores will be rebranded in feelunique’s name and a transactional website for the French market will follow. Claire Blandin who was previously purchasing director for Beaute Privee, an online beauty flash sales site,  has been appointed as managing director for France and members of the management team from Rive Droite will remain with the business.

Commenting on the news, feelunique CEO Joel Palix said “France is already a key market for feelunique and one that has huge potential, particularly online. As an acquisition Parfumeries Rive Droite delivers the perfect combination of a small number of stores in primary locations, exclusive French stockist of a strong selection of premium and niche  brands, an experienced management team and gives us a real opportunity to further localise our business, servicing our French customers better.”
