For the year to October 31st Evans achieved a modest rise in its sales of 1.9 per cent to £135.8 million but EBITDA had fallen by 58 per cent to £2 million for the period. It had opened three new stores but said that there had been adverse conditions like over-supply, poor weather and roadworks in the London area.
Andy King who was brought in as CEO last November said that the current year was looking positive with double digit like – for – like sales growth as well as improved margins.
