Myakka has closed its Guildford store saying that it has become apparent over the last two years that the site no longer suited the company’s future plans and increasing furniture ranges.
Robert Colquhoun, Director of Myakka, said: “We know how important it is for so many of our customers to see and touch the larger furniture items before purchasing and to experience our brand personally, but we have found ourselves restricted by the size and layout of the current premises to be able to deliver this experience satisfactorily.
“We are also very aware that the retail landscape is changing and we are adapting accordingly. We need to ensure that we fully integrate our shops, catalogues, website and other channels such
as social media, coherently. Our plans are for bigger and better where we can offer a seamless service including greater display space, ‘click & collect’, parking and other services which are not possible at the existing shop.
“Our Guildford shop was a retail trial and we have learned a great deal, which we look forward to putting to good use in the near future,” continues Robert. “Myakka is celebrating its 18th
birthday this year and the success of our longevity has been through our continued organic growth which remains firmly on track.”
