Hotel Chocolat is celebrating its entry into Asia with a store opening in Hong Kong via local distributor B&S HK. The plan is to open several more outlets in the former British colony prior to testing other markets in the region.
“This is the beginning of what will be a potentially huge market,” said Angus Thirlwell, CEO. The chocolate specialist enjoys strong sales to Asian tourists in its London stores and believes that by taking the brand into Asian markets it stands to develop strong additional sales.
Hotel Chocolat currently has 93 UK stores plus 3 in Copenhagen, with further outlets coming on stream in Ireland.
