Further shopping malls in the US are set to lose their Sears anchors as the retailer plans to close a further 18 stores and use the holiday season to clear stocks. Additionally it will shutter 45 of its Kmart branches. Most of the other major US retail chains have also been reducing their stores estates and headcounts as the market comes to terms with diminishing footfall and falling sales.
