Oak Furniture Land has announced its appointment of Ruth Harrison-Wood to the newly created role of chief marketing officer. Harrison-Wood joins from National Express where she held the role of group customer and marketing director but it is her previous experience with B&Q which will have attracted Oak Furniture Land. In her new role she will take the lead the retailer’s growth plans in both the UK and US markets, both of which involve a significant number of store openings.
Terry King, Oak Furniture Land’s chief operating officer commented, “The role of chief marketing officer spans new product development, merchandising and marketing, and it is therefore integral to customer experience and to the future success of our business”. Adding, “Ruth has a wealth of experience and in-store customer journey knowledge, so this appointment will move us far closer to the Oak Furniture Land customer and their needs during what is set to be a period of rapid growth for the company.”
