In its latest bid to reduce costs in the wake of lacklustre trading results, Debenhams has confirmed that it will cut 320 jobs from its store based management teams. The retailer is acting upon its findings from a business-wide review which found that it could achieve significant savings by reducing the complexity of a management roles in its stores, as well processes to optimise and standardise ways of working.
It is now in consultation with affected employees with the aim of redeploying as many as possible and has stated that no stores are currently earmarked for closure.
