Co-op has appointed Alex Dower as Managing Director of its Retail business. He most recently led the international division of Holland & Barrett.
According to reports, Tesco has named Chris Blatchford, currently Group CTO at Kingfisher, as its new Chief Technology Officer. He succeeds Guus Dekkers, who retires in December, and joins the grocer in March 2027.
JD Sports has announced that Senior Independent Director Kath Smith will step down from its board. She joined the board in May 2019 and served as interim CEO in 2022. Her departure takes effect on 19th January 2027.

ASOS has appointed Nick Goodchild as AI & Creative Studios Director. He joins from PVH, where he led Tommy Hilfiger’s global AI taskforce.
Culina Group has named Deputy CEO Fabian Koehler as its next Chief Executive. He succeeds Liam McElroy, who will remain with the group as a Non-Executive Director, and takes up the role on 1st February 2027.
Poundland owner Gordon Brothers has appointed Andrew Kirkpatrick, Stephen Welch and Dominic Young to the retailer’s board as independent directors. They join to add M&A and industry experience while the business goes through a sale process.

McBride CEO Chris Smith is to retire after almost 12 years with the household products manufacturer. He will remain in post until mid-2027 while a successor is found.
Anne Jessopp is to step down as CEO and Deputy Master of The Royal Mint to pursue a new leadership opportunity. She joined the organisation in 2008 and became its first female chief executive in 2018. She will stay in post into the 2027-28 financial year while a successor is recruited.
