Gift Universe which operates Menkind and RED5 has secured an eight figure funding package from HSBC which it will use to scale up the importation of stock from around the world over the next 12 months. The retailer operates 80 UK stores, sells via its own websites, and also leverages marketplaces, including Amazon. Founded in 2002 by Paul Kraftman, it employs some 1200 staff across its stores, Hull distribution centre and Surrey offices.
Paul Kraftman, chairman and CEO commented: “The retail sector has undergone profound change since we launched the business 16 years ago. To react we’ve strived to increase not only the range of our customers, but also how we reach them.”
