Sir Charlie Mayfield will step down from his role as John Lewis Partnership chairman in 2020. The retailer which has just revealed a drop in its underlying profits for the six months to July 28th expects to announce Mayfield’s successor next summer. Both internal and external candidates will be considered with the appointment overseen by a nominations committee.
