The White Company has posted group sales of £206 million for the 53 weeks to March 31st with group operating profit of £11.8 million, down by 32 per cent over the previous year. During the period the retailer had opened its first US stores and a further one in Kildare bringing its store count to 47 plus seven concessions in the UK, and three overseas. It had also relocated its headquarters from Kensington to White City. Chief executive Mary Homer commented: “Our year of consolidation investing in both infrastructure, IT, moving to new headquarters and our international expansion has ensured we are now positioned for future growth.” Adding, “The performance of this current year so far, showing growth in both revenue and profit, is extremely encouraging in the current retail climate.” The business launches an online partnership with Nordstrom in the Spring to deepen its penetration of the US market, will open a second store in Ireland as well as a new UK store in Beverley.
