Science in Sport has posted a record year which saw its revenues grow to £21.3 million which includes a 25 day contribution from PhD which it acquired last December for a consideration of £32 million. Commenting on the year to 31st December, chief executive of the sports nutrition business Stephen Moon said: “2018 was another period of very strong growth, the sixth consecutive year where Science in Sport has significantly outperformed the sector.”
Gross profit has risen to £12 million, including a £400,000 contribution from PhD but there was an underlying operating loss of £2.5 million attributed to growth strategy, including continued investment in brand awareness, eCommerce and international expansion.
