It can now be confirmed that the online bathroom products retailer soak.com has appointed administrators from Leonard Curtis’ Manchester offices. This move follows unsuccessful attempts by BDO to find a buyer for the business which had been sold by US group Ferguson to Christopher Bale last March. Some redundancies were made immediately prior to Bale’s takeover and it is understood that the business had since struggled to survive on ever reducing margins in what has become a cut-throat sector, not much helped by a slow housing market and falling consumer confidence. Sales had fallen from the £70 million generated in 2018 to a little over £43 million.
