Sofa retailer, Sofology, has announced it is opening its 45th UK store this week, located in Hove, with a further two stores expected to open this year.
Sited at the Goldstone Retail Park, the new store, spread over two floors, will feature 70 room sets for customers to explore. The store opening will create 12 permanent jobs for local people.
The store will be working in partnership with Teens Unite, a charity supporting young people fighting cancer, as the retailer commits to raising awareness through in-store activities and customer donations.
As part of the retailer’s commitment to carbon efficiency, Sofoloy said the store will be powered by 100 per cent renewable electricity and will be equipped with the latest digital retail technology to reduce unnecessary waste, reducing their impact on the environment. Additionally, the store said it will build on its continued partnership with Woodland Trust, which sees Sofology plant a tree for every purchase.
To further underline its commitment to the environment, the retailer said its ‘Sofa Rescue’ initiative provides a sustainable and responsible collection service to help customers recycle as much of their old sofa as possible into green energy, saving the majority of it from landfill.
With a further 2 stores expected to open this year and up to an additional 9 in 2021, the Hove store is part of Sofology’s expansion plans.
Shaun Cook, head of retail, south comments: “We are always delighted to bring the brand to a new location and as our first store opening of 2020, Hove is particularly exciting. We look forward to welcoming local customers as they explore our new store, with our knowledgeable Sofologists on hand to help find the perfect sofa for them.”
